Programs We Offer

Tutoring for youth ages 13-18

We will provide tutoring in all areas of middle school and high school curriculum including SAT and ACT preparation.

Our Tutoring Program supports at-risk and academically challenged students by providing targeted academic intervention to address learning gaps and improve school performance. The program serves students performing below grade level or facing barriers that impact academic success.

Program goal: Serve 25 or more youth each semester, supporting them in building academic confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and meeting grade-level requirements.

We will leverage teachers from the existing community looking to give back and are willing to tutor students in the area of expertise/knowledge.

Career Development for youth and young adults

Howard’s Heart Career Development Program is designed to empower youth and young adults to discover their purpose, explore career pathways, and build the skills needed for long-term success. We equip participants with the tools, guidance, and real-world exposure necessary to confidently pursue post-secondary education, vocational training, or entry into the workforce.

Through structured, supportive programming, participants gain essential employability skills while learning how to set realistic goals and make informed career decisions. Our approach combines personal development with practical experience, helping youth connect their passions and strengths to viable career opportunities.

Program activities include:

  • Career exploration workshops and interest assessments

  • Resume development and interview preparation

  • Job shadowing, internships, and mentorship connections with industry professionals

  • Goal setting, career planning, and workforce readiness coaching

Each academic year, Howard’s Heart aims to serve 25 or more youth and young adults, guiding them toward career readiness, self-confidence, and clarity in their next steps.

Sports ENRICHMENT Programs For youth and young adults

The Howard’s Heart Sports Enrichment Program uses sports to build confidence, character, and leadership in youth and young adults from underserved communities. Through organized athletics, mentorship, and faith-based values, participants develop teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits that extend beyond the field—into school, home, and life.

Program Goal:
To engage and support 100–150 youth and young adults per season during the Fall, Winter, and Spring, providing structured sports activities, mentorship, and positive role models that promote physical fitness, personal growth, and life skills development.

Howard’s Heart would like to partner with the community’s school system to hold sporting events.

Counseling for youth and young adults

Our volunteers will provide counseling for all those in need at the facility.

This will address Mental and Spiritual Wellness.

We would like to leverage the counseling services of a church within the community/city.

Mentoring

Our Mentoring Program connects youth and young adults with caring mentors who provide guidance, support, and positive role modeling. The program serves participants who may face social, academic, or personal challenges and benefit from consistent, supportive relationships.

Mentors help participants:

  • Set academic and personal goals

  • Build life skills and resilience

  • Develop confidence and leadership abilities

Program goal: Serve 25 or more youth and young adults each academic year, helping them stay engaged, navigate challenges, and achieve long-term success.
